WHO FARTED How to Find the Farter
Innocent-side deduction for Badass Experiences’ 1-vs-all party game—honest about limited public meta, strong on process.
Honest scope
Public, verified mechanical tells for WHO FARTED? are still thin. There is no widely published Trello, and we will not invent particle cues, fake ability cooldowns, or map-specific “always stand here” cheese. What does transfer from every strong 1-vs-all / social deduction lobby is process: track behavior, control information, time your accusations, and pressure without throwing the round.
This guide is for innocents / finders. If you rolled the secret role, switch to Win as Farter. Role foundations live under Innocent and the Roles hub. Pair this page with the mid-round Suspicion Tracker.
Win condition mindset
Your job matches the pitch: find the secret farter before they fart on you. Exact UI labels can change after patches, so always read the on-screen objective. Mentally, innocents win by correctly identifying and stopping the threat; the farter wins by staying hidden long enough to land their moment. In a ~10 player lobby, one wrong hard-tunnel can hand them the round.
Signal categories that usually matter
Use these as soft signals, not auto-guilt:
1. Behavioral tells
- Speech pattern flips — quiet all game, then a perfect essay when named; or loud all game, then sudden mute when votes open.
- Over-helping — inventing alibis for everyone except themselves.
- Premature certainty — naming a suspect in the first ten seconds with zero observations.
- Deflection loops — every question about them becomes a joke, a counter-accuse, or “you’re throwing.”
2. Positioning and pathing
- Shadowing one player across the map without a clear reason.
- Edge camping near choke points while claiming to “scout.”
- Convenient isolation — steering duos into dead-end spaces.
- Fake AFK at high-information moments.
Because layouts can update, judge relative weirdness inside this round, not a memorized tile name from a YouTube short.
3. Social graph
- Duo stacks that always clear each other.
- Solo players being bullied into looking guilty.
- Vote leaders who never accept counter-evidence.
Mark relationships on your mental tracker. Farters love borrowed trust.
Early game: gather, do not crown a king
In the opening minute, prioritize observations over verdicts:
- Note who pushes for an instant vote.
- Note who refuses to share any read at all.
- Watch collisions: who arrives “just after” a scare, who was nowhere nearby.
- Ask one specific question (“Where were you when X happened?”) instead of “who?” spam.
Early hard-tunnels are ranked lower on our strategy tier list unless the lobby is already collapsing. Information first.
Mid game: build a ranked suspect list
Keep two to three names max. More than that and you are noise. For each name, store:
- What you personally saw
- What others claim
- What would clear them
Promote a suspect when independent signals agree (behavior + position + vote weirdness). Demote when a clear public play contradicts your theory. The Suspicion Tracker turns this into a quick checklist you can run between chases.
Vote timing and pressure
When to push a vote
- You have two or more independent reasons.
- The farter is about to isolate someone and the lobby is distracted.
- A player’s story changed in a checkable way.
When to wait
- You only have vibes.
- The lobby is already mislynching and needs a reset question.
- You are about to confirm a tell in the next few seconds of movement.
How to pressure without throwing
- Ask binary questions: “Left hall or fountain—pick one.”
- Request a repeat: liars often fail identical retells.
- Invite a third player to corroborate instead of 1v1 flaming.
- Stay calm. Tilted chat is free cover for the farter.
Late confirmations—holding until evidence stacks—sit higher on the tier list for coordinated lobbies. Pure camping without information sits lower.
Baiting safely
Soft bait ideas that do not require invented mechanics:
- Walk a semi-public route and see who shadows.
- Share a slightly wrong detail and see who “corrects” with impossible knowledge.
- Pause in a contested area with a trusted teammate watching your back.
Never bait by throwing the round on purpose or by harassing players outside the game’s spirit. Keep it clever, not toxic.
Communication templates
Short calls work better than novels:
- “Suspect A: shadowed B twice, flipped story on spawn. Need eyes.”
- “Clearing C for now—was with me at mid when the scare hit.”
- “No vote yet—need ten seconds of pathing on D.”
If you use voice, still type key claims so mobile players can follow. Cross-check device comfort in Controls.
Spectating and second rounds
When you are out, do not spam. Watch:
- Who stops trying once the loudest townie dies
- Who pivots blame instantly onto the next convenient target
- Who looks lost only when their duo partner is gone
Carry those notes into the next lobby. Meta on a fresh Badass Experiences title evolves weekly; your personal log beats stale copy-paste guides.
What not to trust
- Random “ESP scripts” and executor ads — see Scripts. Account risk is not worth a fart joke.
- Codes promising auto-win — Codes show none confirmed; the real freebie is the group skin.
- Cross-game guides for unrelated fart titles.
Practice plan
- Play five rounds where you forbid yourself from first-accusing.
- Play five rounds where you only accuse from a written (or mental) two-signal rule.
- Review with Innocent role notes and adjust.
- When you finally roll farter, test which of your own innocent habits are easiest to fake—then read Win as Farter to close the loop.

Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
Is there a guaranteed visual tell for the farter?
No reliable public tell is documented here. Use behavior, positioning, and vote logic instead of invented particle myths.
Should I accuse immediately?
Usually no. Gather at least two independent signals. See the strategy tier list for when early pressure is worth it.
How many suspects should I track?
Two or three. Use the Suspicion Tracker so the list stays actionable.
What if the lobby only memes?
Match energy lightly, but keep a private logic track. Joke lobbies still have a real farter.
Where do I learn the farter side?
Read Win as Farter and Farter so you recognize strategies used against you.
